LEWIS, (John) Roy(ston). Also writes as David Springfield. British. Born in Rhondda, Glamorganshire, 17 January 1933. Educated at Pentre Grammar School. 1944-51; University of Bristol, 1951-54. LL.B. 1954; University of Exeter, 1956-57, Dip.Ed. 1957; Inner Temple, London: called to the Bar, 1965; University of Durham, 1976-78. M. A. 1978. Served in the Royal Artillery, 1954-56. Married Gwendoline Hutchings in 1955; one son and two daughters. Teacher. Okehampton Secondary School, Devon, 1957-59; Lecturer, Cannock Chase Secondary School, Staffordshire, 1959-61, Cornwall Technical College. Redruth. 1961-63, and Plymouth College of Technology, Devon, 1963-67; Inspector of Schools, Newcastle on Tyne, 1967-75; Deputy Principal, New College, Durham, 1975-81. Since 1981, Principal, Wigan College of Technology. Since 1974, Managing Director, Felton Press, educational publishers. Newcastle on Tyne. Associate, 1962, and Fellow,'l 983, Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators.
