Synopsis - About this Book
The glaring lights above the operating table had been burning for most of the day. A man's brain lay exposed, and silent, white figures examined it and worked over it with urgent skill and care.
The surgeon poised, then lowered the scalpel to the damaged area. A barely heard moan, and the patient was unconscious.
The patient in his own country, was an important political figure, and his opponents knew that his only chance of success for their revolt lay in taking advantage of his absence. Which was why, in a hotel somewhere in Montreal, three men were plotting what to do, in case the operation succeeded.

A superior copy of an important book and with the band, very rare indeed, a bargain - we'd suggest . . .

Murder in Majorca - Michael Bryan
1958 British hardback first edition, first impression published by Eyre and Spottiswoode in London
A VG+ book in VG+ unclipped dust jacket
A tight solid and square book without names or stamps etc
The dust cover has tanned lightly with age, no loss just very light rubs to extremities
Pseudonym of Brian Moore

Synopsis - About this Book
Gregory Fall, a newspaper photographer, arrived in Majorca to work with a free-lance journalist. It was not Chuck Kenner, however, whom he met first, but Isabel Kenner, his wife. Isabel was desperate. Unwittingly, she had fallen into one of Chuck's schemes; and here she was, smuggling diamonds. But she would not go through with it. She would give the diamonds back to Chuck, and then leave him.
But the diamonds disappeared; and though it was dangerous to carry them, it was, as Chuck, Barney his partner, and the middleman Maurice LePlan all knew, even more dangerous to lose them.

For losses were Freitag's concern, and he had his orders. Freitag was what happened when middlemen made an error of judgment.

In his first thriller Intent to Kill (see back of this jacket) Michael Bryan showed exceptional skill in creating and maintaining tension, " The tension almost hurts," Miss Pat Wallace wrote in the Sunday Times. The same crisp writing, swift narration and continuous tension, heightened by what film editors would call "brilliant cutting", distinguish Murder in Majorca, Mr, Bryan, as Francis lies expressed it, " has clearly come to stay ".

A rare and very collectable book indeed
