Brief Biography
HEBDEN, Mark. Pseudonym for John Harris; also writes as Max Hennessy. British. Born in Rotherham, Yorkshire, 18 October 1916. Educated at Rotherham Grammar School. Served in the Royal Air Force, six years. Married Betty Wragg in 1947; one son and one daughter. Worked as merchant seaman, history teacher, journalist, and cartoonist; full-time writer from the mid-1950's.
