THAYER, Lee (Emma Redington Thayer, nee Lee). American, Born in Troy, Pennsylvania, 5 April 1874. Educated at Cooper Union and Pratt Institute, New York City. Married Henry W. Thayer in 1909. Artist and illustrator: paintings displayed at Chicago World's Fair, 1893; produced designs for book jackets. Interior decorator. Associated Artists, New York 1890-96; Director, Decorative Designers, New York, 1896-1932. Died 18 November 1973. |
