Synopsis
LORD MINEHEAD was wanted by the police. Only the police did not know that it was Lord Minehead they wanted. It came about in this way. August , 1914, had found Lord M inehead without the piece o£ parchment to obtain which he had spent four long years at Oxford. To make a bad matter worse, it had also found him with an irate old father who was inclined to see nothing good in the younger generation, particularly in that part of it which consisted of his son and heir. He had enlisted at once, as a matter of course, and the four years in the trenches had taught him many things that he would never have learned at a University. In fact, they had given him a new and curious point of view ; an old and honoured University would have surely regarded it as reprehensible.
