Brief Biography
Iain Pears has, like many mystery authors before him, brought past experience to his work. He was an art historian, educated at Oxford University, and journalist, before turning his hand to writing books. His two main series charcaters are Jonathan Argyll and Flavia di Stefano. Both of them grow in depth and interest as the series unfolds. The authors authoritive grip on the subject matter adds a great deal of weight and quality to the books, though it is tempered weel with excellent backgrounds and good character depth. This is then, in our opinion, an excellent series and an author we cann personallly recommend
