Brief Biography
MOFFAT, Gwen. British. Born in Brighton, Sussex, 3 July 1924. Educated at Hove County Grammar School, Sussex. Served in the Auxiliary Territorial Service, 1943-47. Married I) Gordon Moffat in 1948; one daughter; 2) John Lees in 1956. Has worked as a mountain guide; frequent broadcaster and contributor to newspapers on mountain climbing, travel, camping, and related subjects. Recipient: Welsh Arts Council bursary, 1973.
