Brief Biography
ER Punshon, aka Robertson Halkett was a prolific writer who was writing popular fiction in the late Victorian period. He moved into Crime Fiction in 1929 and wrote some 40 novels.

Series Characters
Inspector Carter & Sergeant Bell
The appear together in only 5 novels, the twist being the Sergeant is quicker and sharper than the Inspector.
