Brief Biography
Born 1833, died 1873, Emile Gaboriau was on eof the most important authors in the development of mystery fiction. Although today perhaps eclipsed in posterity and memory by the likes of Dupin and Vidocq, Lecoq did much to broaden the commercial appeal of the genre in the years between The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins and A Study in Scarlet by Conan Doyle.
He also appears in both Queens Quorum and is a Haycraft Queen Cornerstone
