John J Malone The appearances in court of this little Chicago lawyer are far fewer than his visits to the City Hall Bar of Joe the Angel. Malone is a hard-living, hard-drinking man. In his law offices, his frequent companion is a bottle of rye cached in the filing cabinet marked "Personal." Playing second fiddle to the whiskey is the unfortunate iot of his pretty black-haired secretary, Maggie Cassidy. Maggie is tremendously loyal to her employer, although he is generally months behind in paying her salary. Malone, who seems to have the "luck of the Irish," gets considerable devotion as well as assistance from Captain Daniel von Flannagan of the Homicide Squad. Bingo Riggs |
