WOOLRICH, Cornell (George Hopley-). Also wrote as George Hopley; William Irish. American. Born in New York City in 1903; grew up in South America and New York City. Educated at Columbia University. New York. Married and separated. Recipient: Mystery Writers of America Edgar Allan Poe Award, for short story, 1948. Died in 1968.
