Further Information
Christianna Brand was the primary pseudonym for Mary
Christianna Lewis, she also wrote under the pseudonyms of China
Thompson, Annabel Jones and Mary Roland although these works
were non criminous. In total she wrote thirteen crime fiction
novels as well as contributing to No Flowers by Request
and The Diamonds are Forever Amber Mystery with Dick
Francis et al.
Her main series characters are Inspector
Cockrill of the Kent County Police who appears in six novels and
eight stories. Others include Chief Inspector Charlesworth of
Scotland Yard who appears in four novels, Detective Inspector
Chucky, in two novels and Mr Cecil, a dress designer, who also
appears in two novels.
