Educated at Girton School, Adelaide, 1926-37; University of Adelaide, 1939-41. Married to Albert James Halls. Worked as a secretary in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, and London during the 1940's; Court Stenographer, Court of Papua New Guinea. 1949; lived in Pakistan, Thailand, Lebanon, India, and France, 1950-58. With her husband operated an oriental antique business in Somerset, 1958-71, and since 1971, in Adelaide. Recipient: Mystery Writers of America Ed gar Allan Poe Award, for novel, 1953. |
