Chief Inspector Rivers
The long limbed, deceptively lazy looking Scotland Yard man, Chief Inspector Julian Rivers, is much like Inspector Macdonald , who performs the same function in the same author's other books (under the ECR Lorac pseudonym). Both sleuths are dogged, unspectacular, and sharp-witted, and both always learn the truth.
