What this Book is About
IT all started when inoffensive little Mr. Kilmacross was found dead in the attic of a Bayswater boarding-house, At first it looked like a simple case of a burglar murdering a bungling snooper; but that was before Miss Grant, a young secretary employed at one of the Ministries, began hearing suspicious noises on the blacked-out stairs, and before her chief, the lean and attractive Mark Chantrey, began turning up in places where he had no particular reason to be. To mix things up still more there were two other murders, as well as several anonymous notes that arrived at the Ministry hinting at fifth column work, and even implicating Miss Grant herself. In this tale of spies and treason in high places Miss Campbell has a timely and thrilling story to tell.

An uncommon book
