Synopsis
ALAN MELVILLE'S new novel is a light-hearted warning to all who criticize crime fiction. Actually, it is the story of a professional book reviewer, Jonathan Gray, who filled two columns of a Sunday newspaper until his career was abruptly ended by one of his own victims, an unfortunate author who had suffered much from Jonathan Gray's pen.
Mr. Melville plays the author murder himself, and relates in an entertaining manner how he put an end to Jonathan Gray's criticisms by the simple expedient of murdering him. He also hints that he would not hesitate to repeat the act with any critic of this present novel . . . but it seems unlikely that he will find a potential victim among the readers of this very amusing story.
A very rare book, 1936 and a nice fat 7/6 book with a wonderful inscription . . . a bargain !

Synopsis
THERE was not a great deal of plot in Mr. Douglas B. Douglas's spectacular musical comedy Blue Music, but what there was centred round the fact that the leading actor had to be shot at and wounded slightly by another member of the cast. The thing did not go quite according to plan at the first performance, and the brilliant first-night audience realized eventually that the leading actor had made his last appearance on any stage.
Fortunately the audience included the Wilson family— Inspector Wilson of Scotland Yard, and his son Derek, of the Daily Gazette—and these two amusing persons took charge of the proceedings in their own original way.
The mystery was not solved until the show had been put on again with another actor in the leading part, and between the two performances one sensation followed another in a way which made even the methodical Mr. Wilson, senr., slightly ruffled and which provided Mr. Wilson, junr., with plenty of copy for his newspaper.
A lovely looking nice fat full sized period book and very rare indeed
